We had always wanted to stay here but didn’t know if it would be worth the large price tag. Like a lot of tourists, we had previously wandered in, ‘just to have a look.’ But now we were staying here we weren’t sure what to expect. It was a bit daunting at first because the foyer and reception is huge. There was a large line at check in but they seemed to have lots of staff availabile to take care of everything. Someone took our bags to place into storage as we were too early to check in. Someone came round with little drinks and refreshing towels. We were quickly guided to another area away from the throngs of people and were welcomed by a very friendly lady who quickly did all the necessary processing of our check in. She advised us they would be in touch as soon as our room was ready. We had planned to get something to eat anyway as we had missed breakfast. We decided on brunch in Lavo restaurant on the 57th (top) floor. We had looked at the menu online and it did have lots of choices . It’s open to the public as well as hotel guests and has amazing views out to the Singapore Straits or the city, depending on which side you are on. It even has free telescopes for use. The staff offered to take pictures of us. It was a bit pricey but considering the location felt totally worth it. We got an email saying our room was ready so we quickly returned to reception and exchanged our temporary key cards for our ‘access all areas’ room keys. We checked in 2 and a half hours early! Our room was on the 42nd floor and we had amazing views of the city and river. We couldn’t wait to get to the pool. You know, the one you always see in photos but we were going to see it for real! And go in it! We took the elevator up to the 57th floor again and the view was amazing!
What to expect during your experience at Marina Bay Sands
To feel looked after.
Enjoy the famous infinity pool (but get there early as it gets very busy.)
Sample one of the many dining or drinking options within the hotel.
Visit the shopping mall which is within the hotel complex.
Enjoy the various restaurants within the shopping mall.
Watch the people on the little gondolas in the internal river within the shopping mall. (Yes, there’s even a canal in the middle of the shopping mall!) They only look vaguely embarrassed!
